90 series seat suspension repair

My son helped me repair the 2590 seat last week. The plastic bushings are $40+ at the dealer and the pivot pin had worn slots in the plates so bad the seat would move 3" or more like a rocking chair.

So we welded some 1/8" flat to the outer sides of the plates, rebored them to 1/2", fabricated new rods from 1/2" shafts and 4 bushings later from McMaster and we are back in business for under $15.

Hardest part of the job was getting the seat assy in and out of the cab.

Thought this might help someone else out sometime.

Most 94 and 96 series had hydraulic seats and it is easy to spend 4 to 500 to rebuild one, crazy right, but i'm like you welder drill and time, trying to get that thing out the door is like loading a wet new born calf.
