Dutchman, You have a real 'basket case' there !
I would suggest you post on the Garden Tractor site. Just scroll down the list of forums and watch
for it.

Mark, I tried to send a diagram directly to you as I was unable to get it drug onto this site. Hopefully you got them.

If you have not already found the Case Colt Ingersoll website and forum check it out. Those guys know these tractors inside and out and are very helpful, they like pictures too. They also have just about every operators, service, and parts manuals scanned that you can look at.

Mark, I believe the holding valve bolts directly to the hydraulic drive motor and then the steel lines from the travel control valve attach to the holding valve. My 446 doesn't have one, but I believe that is where it goes. If you go in to the yahoo case/colt/Ingersoll forum you can access a lot of the manuals for the 200 and 400 series garden tractors.

Dutchman,
I bought a 1972 case 646 early last summer and from looking at your pictures yours came in a basket case so to speak. Just a bare frame and steering wheel and tires. Everything else was in boxes bring it home.
I tryed put the peices together but some of the parts had me stumped and went an purchase a parts manual. Helped out quite a bit. Still tinkering with it yet. Got alot of bugs to get out yet. Also the garden tractor forum if you jump down there they may be able get you some pictures for the 444.
