Eldo Case hit the nail on the head as to why I didn't like the extended lever on the range lever. Not so much of a posability of forcing a shift, (I know better), but the posability of the extended lever forcing the rail out of the detented position in high range and rideing the fork/collar.
My console designed lever overcenters in both ranges, eliminating that problem.
The tractor range lever and my console shift lever have counter revolving archs, so a slip joint was required to allow smooth rotation. No problem, just needed to fab a pivoting tubular trunion that a rod (the console lever) could slid in. I need to thread the end of the lever and buy another of those $5.50 knobs for the end.
It took longer to bend the frame for the console cover, than to build the linkage. HeHe.
