I was given a photo what I believe to be a 930 tandem unit. Tom Turkey sent this to me, and we thought it was worth sharing. Chuck &Tom

I bet they would go through a few gallons of LP in
a long day !!!
I would like to build tandem DC's sometime. Nick

Bachert's have a very nice pair of DC's in northern Indiana close to Knox. They were at the Power of the Past in Winamac this last summer.

always like seeing tandem setups, I've only seen one in person. so anyone know how they setup the linkage to shift the other tractor? thats the one part I haven't really figure out yet.

Most of them I have seen you put one tractor in the gear you want manually, then operate the clutch and throttle from the other tractor. Have seen 930 tandems where they used sheathed cables to control gear shifting and range selection.

Straw Boss, thanks for the tandum tractor pictures. What can you tell us about the two " L s" that are " Dualed" Or what ever you call them. Like where they were at , when the pic was taken and how the drive assembly was hooked together. A very interesting set up.
BTW, I have a booklet put out by the Uni of Ill. in the 1960 s that tells how to build a tandum tractor hook up. Showed several brands of tractors. Not OSHA approved! Thanks, clint

There was a guy in Elnora IN that built them. They call them siamese tractors. All they do is make an axle trumpet to bolt the two together and an axle that hooks into each differential. They will run on either engine or both. I would imagine that running straight down the road the center axle would be stationary and it would travel twice as fast as a normal tractor.
