LETS HAVE A PICTURE AND STORY WEEKEND

As field work is winding down and days getting sort of boring how about doing this for some weekend entertainment. Everyone please post a pic of a CASE item. Heck I do not think anyone would care weather it be a belt buckle, manure spreader or tractor. Tell us a little story about its history or what ever. The longer the better. Everyone enjoys the stories, because that is what completes the picture. I'm looking forward to seeing different stuff and no one will care if it is a previously posted pic, it is always fun to learn more. Thank You, Rod.

Rod, here is I would guess the only one of these from our dealership left, it is a ice scraper we had as give aways back in the day,

Well, I do not have a long story but this was a nice 'surprise'. Received a small package in the mail one day. This pic shows what was inside.
ps, I have a 50's DC.

The picture is of a buckle on ebay, but the one I have is just like it. Back in the early 80's I was around 10 I got the buckle from my parents. My mom subscribed to a magazine called farm wife and in it were several buckles, I always wanted the buckle with the 4wd case on it. It was around $25 and that was a lot of money in the early 80's in our house. So how did I get it? My folks went to town on Saturday evenings in the summer time, we had some feeder cattle around the yard during the summer months to keep the weeds and grass in the cattle lots down. I went out to give them there eveninng feed and noticed one steer had a bloated stomach. My sister and I were too young to get the calf in the chute and let the air out like I had seen dad do a few years back. I called the neighbor to come over and we got the calf in and let the air down on the calf. The next day I told my parents about the calf and they were so glad that I noticed the calf and called help that they got me the buckle. About 10 years ago dad bought the real thing and we use it regularly on the tub grinder.

Used the 2590 in September to take an alfalfa field out for rotation to corn next year. Home made sprayer bar from the late 90's and the front tank mount was fabricated this spring. Pleased with the install time, much better than the saddles on the other tractor and very easy to route the hoses along the frame.

Used EZ-Guide Plus in the 2590 has made the foam markers obsolete here. Does anyone have any ideas to repurpose an old foamer?

Here's my two most favorite case tractors. The first is a vaiw 1945. My understanding is that theses tractors were used in warehouses, on shipping docks and in the military. Around 3700 were built. Top speed 14 mph and the rear fenders are 850 lbs each. Fun tractor to have at shows. The other is a 18-32 cross motor, sorry for the incomplete tractor. All parts are here just not on. Always wanted one sense I was 12 and now I have one.

Rod,

I like your idea! Here are two L's long since parked on a ND farm site.

These are pretty close to where Ande lives.

My Dad's last tractor prior to his retirement was an 832 Western Special (1962) which is still going in Cavalier County, ND. I have pictures of it (slides and other non-digital types) which I might post if I can find them and figure out how to post them.

Ron

Incidentally, these L's were not owned by my Dad.

My next restoration project a 1936 Case CV. This one of 190 CV that were built. I think I have found all the parts I need. Hope to have done to take to a Case expo in a couple years. Steve

Very interesting pics Ron. The tire tread on both would seen unusual for ag use and do you know what is clamped on that fender in the last pic? Rod.

One of the three "L"s I have has the same tires. Tractor was bought new by former owner of this ranch and was here when Dad bought the ranch in 1946, left in 52 and returned in 02. Hope to restore the one of the three soon.

Here are the only Cases I own, growing up I had every brand under the sun of toy tractors (mainly John Deere because that mainly what you could get) as the years went on I got more into the non-mainstream brands. So when I'd put my farm displays together and "Carpet Farm" I'd use about every brand of tractor except John Deere and newer IH stuff. Of couse implements was whatever cause there wasn't much to choose from besides JD and IH. I've always wanted a Case 1470, L, cc and/or I think they are 94 series with MFWD in the cream color (the ones that look like the got a hood scoop and exhaust come up the side in the middle of the hood. Obviously I got into Olivers but I still like the J.I. Case tractors and would like to own one. I also like coming on this forum cause its a great bunch of guys (that one day I would like to put faces with names) and seems there is always new pictures to see everyday, Thanks for all the enjoyment.
