Leaking chain drive transmission case

Anyone come up with a way to fix a leaking transmission case to axle housing gasket on a chain drive Case w/o taking the whole thing apart?

Jack her up, secure both sides of the leaking culprit, remove the bolts, pry it apart enough to get the old gasket out, split the new gasket at the top & carefully pull it through the gap. Keep the sides even while going up from the bottom. (It'll take two people-we used a fine copper wire in the top holes on each side.) Make sure all the holes line up (we used a big punch to wiggle them in place) and bolt her back together. Did this with a DC a lot of years ago & its still not leaking. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

Thanks! I'll give it a try. If I remember right, you're around Mitchell. If you need a project you can come visit and be that second person :)
