For some reason I cannot get this "new" site to work. I miss the old one... Hopefully here is the picture now.

Thanks Joe. Let's try this one more time with the old faithful!

Do you out casenutty have a break down by chance? If I could find a shady it would have to be split art the housing correct?

Looking at the CaseIH parts manual for the 530 the pto drive shaft is the same as the 300's and 430. The shaft front just fits in a spline coupling. If you can get a hold of the shaft it will pull right out. New shaft just pushes into the spline coupling.

Once you pull that old shaft you will need to install another shaft or an expansion plug to operate the tractor.

Pics are 300 same as 430.

Taking another look at your pic it what appears to be a broken pto shaft may actually an expansion plug.

The pto shaft is installed inside the hollow main drive shaft so if there is power to the transmission main drive shaft, everything you are seeing from your pic view of the seal area will be turning, including the seal and any broken shaft or expansion plug if install in lieu of the shaft.

Joe, wow thank you so much for taking the time to get that info for me. The way it looks and described it wouldn't be that bad to add pto and or repair it, if indeed it had it. I'm not sure how worth it would be to round up all the parts for this tractor being it's 90,% loader tractor. At last it has eagle hitch. But you know how it is, there are going to be times when I wish I had the pto too. You have any suggestions?

Joe is that the same pto shaft as a 300 would have? I just got my W3 home, it is as I understand an industrial 530 or equivalent. Some one took out the PTO Shaft and put a cover on in place (to allow them to put an extra large counter weight on the 3 PT hitch.

MrBill I am only addressing the standard pto for the early 530 ag & utility tractor as noted on the pic. There is also an optional independent pto for this tractor. I don't know anything about the independent pto or the later 530 pto.

I am not sure whether you want the drive or driven shaft but 530 & 300 standard pto shafts are the same.

Zach, I'll get back to you tomorrow or Tues. Will start a new post with "Zach 530 PTO" in the subject line.

Joe, I bought a restorable 630 diesel, 12 speed, standard clutch.Enging is locked up. It had atifreeze in the oil. Good early spring project. It has the had clutch lever on the left side of the tractor plus the foot clutch. The PTO was out of the tractor and sitting in the guys shop. The PTO has the long lever that goes up under the right hand side of the seat. It apears to be an independent PTO. I heard the independent PTO only fits the C.O.M units? What do you know about that?

Joe Thanks that is wonderful information. I have a 311 that I bought from MA to Ok with me.It was a burner (missing sheet-metal and had sat several years with no valve cover) & a 310 forklift I am now going to use for parts. I plan to take the PTO from the 311 and hopefully put the whole PTO assy into the w3. My situation is similar to Zach's ,a cover plate from another tractor (different color) on the W3. Now I am curious if the shaft was broken giving a reason for the cover?
Anyway thanks very much. Mr Bill

Sorry Dick, I simply don't know the answer. My PTO experience is in several 300s' and one 430, all of which were triple range. Just now after doing much research I am not even certain the standard PTO is compatible with the shuttle.

Do a separate post, someone here will surely know.

Joe
