DC Case stuck in reverse

I have a DC Case that runs great but it is stuck in reverse. How do I get it out of gear and keep it from getting stuck in gear again? Thanks.

Remove gear lever (two studs, I think) Using a pry bar or big screw driver and a torch if you have one handy and line up the selectors. Remember if there is any weight on the transmission, it might take a bit of leverage. Maybe replace gasket with a thinner one. I had a DEX which did that from time to time. An easy fix.

I believe Graham's reference to a torch is for what we call a flashlight or work light and not cutting torch???

Gene is right.

There are some subtle differences in the English language in different parts of the world!

Some got me into strife when I was a student in the US many years ago.

To help avoid, move lever to center and pause briefly to stop slide inertia of heavy gears.

If quickly moving to the center and then vertical without a pause, one may disconnect from the sliding gear in motion. If the detent is weak, the sliding gear may slide across and engage another gear.

The situation can be aggravated if the tractor is on a slope and the heavy gear is sliding downhill.

Graham,

G'Day down under. Us bloaks here in the USA use a torch as a last resort to cut things apart also burn ourselves with hot sparks that sometimes set our clothes and the barn on fire. Ha. It is also known as the blue wrench because the flame is blue.

Christmas blessings south of the equator.

Retired Farmer, You may have missed the point of my reply to Graham. Comprehend where New Zealand is. It was intended to be a funny reply communicating no useful information. People in that part of the world say G'day instead of hello. Bloak is good- natured term they use referring to an American. They know that Australia and nearby New Zealand are "down under" compared to us in America above the equator.
