I now have the exact same problem. Did you figure out where your problem was? Slip in PS2 and PS3. Works fine in all gears in PS1 and R.

Generally speaking slipping in 2 or 3 powershift will quite often be caused by a leak in both those circuits. If this is a 70 or 90 series tractor my first guess would be loose or broken C2,C3 hub bolts. I would suggest a pressure test to confirm that guess. Rod.

What pressure checks do you recommend and what pressures am I looking for. You say broken hub bolts, but it runs fine with out load and in lower gears, it is when you load it down or push it ahead in 4 where it feels it is just spinning. Does it need to be split?

What model tractor do you have, that will make a difference in what I suggest you do. Live in southern MN, Rod.

Idle tractor as slow as it will run with it warmed up some. Observe trans press gauge in 1 and then 2 and then 3 powershift. The gauge reading should be the same in all positions. Then shift to 1 powershift with the 3pt arms down all the way, then move 3pt lever quickly to full raise and take note on how fast the arms raise. Do the same test to 2 and 3 powershift. The arms should raise at the same speed in all shift positions. If there is a difference in gauge pressure and lifting speed, that would indicate a leak. You can try calling me at 507 926 5229 with the results and I can explain much easier over the phone what is going on and what you will have to do. Rod.
