Case 970 hydraulics

I recently posted about our Case 970 hydraulics not working. Has a reman pump less than 20 hours. Did not work right after pump was installed. Changed filters and fluid. Seemed like it was Pumping air and it had yellow frothy fluid. Pulled pump and followed advise from previous post. Found O ring on intake tube torn. Changed O ring careful not to tear it. It now has steering and some lift in the remotes (they are hooked to loader) but they are very slow, and 3 point hitch still doesn't work. Checked the shaft that drives the pump when I had pump off. It seems ok. When I loosen the big line at the pump it still seems like it has air and the fluid is still yellow and frothy. Sounds like the pump is whining as if low on fluid but it has fluid. Neighbor says screen may be stopped up and that I can blow air back through it to see if that makes a difference. Fluid has not been dirty in the past. Any help or advise would be appreciated. The sump screen could be plugged but that much would be rare.

You did not mention if the oil has been changed or what oil is in it.

If you have to remove the rear to clean the screen I would put fresh HyTran ultra or whatever the latest is called and change the hydraulic filters. It takes about 17 gal,

The tractor had slow weak hydraulics late last year and we parked it up. When we started bringing in the round bales, we changed the filter and fluid thinking we could use it to unload the trailers. When that didn't work, we moved a disk with it and it shut completely down. That is when we pulled the pump and found the torn O ring.
