SC Wire Lengths

I am having a wiring harness made for my 54' SC and have decided to go the "original" route. The company that I want to use does not have a harness for a Case SC listed in their catalog and I would like to give them the correct wire lengths so that they can make them available. My tractor had almost all original wiring, except for the positive battery cable. I am also missing a section of the magneto cutoff wire and most of the wire that connects the battery cable to the ammeter. If anyone would be willing to measure or sell some of the wires I need, please post or contact me by email.

Here are some pictures of my 54' SC that I took a few weeks ago. I now have it back together and driving. Also, yes, no wiring means it is currently a hand-crank-start-only tractor. That isn't really a problem, though.

Christopher,
Thanks for the pics, I really like the late model SC tractors.
I will look at my SC's tomorrow. Nick

Your SC is looking good !!! I have DC, but without headlights,on yours, I couldn't ID your tractor from a DC.
What are difference, other then engine CuIn. ?
will try to post mine. I have an extra cast grill & pulley....

2nd pic did not show ? will try again. As I related, I always look for the headlight/bracket location, as to if it is a SC or a DC. Other differences must be little things ?

DC's have,
cast iron grill and radiator sides.
square cast iron air cleaner taller intake pipe with flat top cap ( if original)
battery mounted above dash
early to mid 40's cast iron valve cover
hood has more rounded corners
heads early models on fenders. late models mounted on battery try.
16 inch front rims

SC's have
stamped steel grill
round steel air cleaner shorter intake pipe with round black cap ( if original)
battery under fuel tank
All have stamped steel valve cover
hood is more square shaped corners
headlights on fenders early models late models in just front of fuel tank
15 inch front rims.

Some obvious differences (which you can spot from a distance) are,

DC_________________________SC
Cast Grill_________________Stamped Grill
Battery on Steering Column_Battery Under Tank
Cast Belt Pulley___________Stamped Belt Pulley

There are too many less obvious differences to list. They are two totally different designs which share only a few parts and one major casting (rear cover/motor lift/hydraulic sump). Also, just like the Farmall H and M, they share the same configuration and styling.

OK, Thank you for that. I totally missed the battery location, when looking at the pic. And I like the cleaner look with the battery under the tank. However, my battery is very easy to remove or 'jump'.

Christopher,
I looked at my tractors today.
It looks like the cable that runs from the starter button to the battery is 25 1/2 from center of lug to center of cable clamp. This one I soldered a new battery cable end on. I added 1/2" for the amount I believe I cut off.
The magneto wire is 39" from center to center of the lugs.
Out of 5 tractors only one original wire/cable and they were not on the same tractor!
If you are not in a big hurry I have a friend with several original SC's I can have him check his. Nick
