1175 differential questions

I have some friends with a problem with the side gears galling to the shaft of the differential. We originally thought that we would try some bronze on the shaft but then we heard a rumor that later 1175s had caged needle bearings on the shaft. I have looked through some online parts books but I can not find the bearings in any of the catalogs that I have looked in. Does anyone know if this set up exists and if it does where can I find the part numbers. Thank you in advance.

Are they tractor pulling it? Using cheap hyd oil in it? Problems in the trans. or rearend of these tractors are just about zero. But anything is possible after 40 years.

Tractor pulling. They are in a 10k class. Estimated 8-900 HP on 20.8 tires. There is some pressure and speed inside. With the rumor of the 1175 bearing set up, we thought that would make a good fix all the way around.

Does anyone know if it is in a parts catalog out there.

You won't find it in any Case info, it's a pullers mod thing. Call Elmer's repair or one of the other high profile Case pullers and they will get you the info needed. It is done with the existing parts and machined from there to add the needled stuff.

Thanks for the info. I was aware of Elmer's set up but when I heard the rumor that it may be in a parts catalog I wanted to follow up on it. Thanks again.
