Big 400 narrow front to a 730.

Will the narrow front off of a 1956 big 400 fit on a 730? Jerry

I put a wide front off a 930 on my 400 so it must work the other way...........

I do not think so. The 400 tub is about an inch shorter and the fan will be in the radiator. You can make some spacers to put between the tub and the engine flange and it will work fine. if you look at some of the early 800s you can see in the casting where they extended the the tub.

Never had this problem before and my 400 has an 830 tub on it!
