After freezing my rear side and fingers I now have brakes on the 49 DC with live power and power steering. Thanks to John Saeli seals and brake linnings( at lower cost including shipping than localy) I can stop the thing. Included new water pump no longer need to rember to carry water and drain from freezing. Its cold work but to me much better than sweat and clothes damp from sweating. Now to repair the huge dent in my 4X4 from not having brakes. John also thanks for the calendar.

Wilson, that is great. Got photos of that power steering? My shoulders sure could use that. Tom

How is the live power setup?

I knew a guy that took the PS off Massey combines and put it on his DC's. It worked but was a dang mess of scrap iron and hoses

I will try to get a picture soon. Basically
what I done was to stack two pumps ahead of the
mag drive. One was from a case combine which
is used for the loader and a remote cylinder.
The power steering is a smaller pump neighbor
had 40 years ago on am M. I guess one pump
would work with a priority valve for steering.
The second pump is cheapest for me using what i
have. The power steering control is from a
junked case combine . It is just grafted in the
so called chicken roost. A 2 inch cylinder on
the plow front works well for me.

Hear ya go.

Thanks Wilson, If I could find the pump it would be a start. I was thinking narrow front which I have so I would need to ponder the situation further. Tom
