Snow, Cold Weather and Wood Splitting

We had approx. 5 in. of show yesterday and overnight lows of -8. Windy and very cold today. I set up the splitter so we could split indoors. I plumbed the hyd's of splitter to the 580. Just hooked into the stabilizer hoses and tied the lever so oil continued to flow. Worked great and much faster than using the engine on the splitter with the 580 running at just 1000 rpms. My stacked pile is a embarrassment compared to ACG's work but I just plan on tearing it apart and burning it anyway, LOL. This wood is just to supplement the heat in the shop and some will be used in our wood working shop that is heated only with wood. Rod.

Rod,
If the pile didn't tip over a half day after you stacked it, you did a good job.
I started running my boiler 24/7 last Wed. I already have a noticable hole in my woodshed.

There is a fellow out here that burns his with waste oil dripping on his. I take it he is burning some unseasoned with it and the oil is supplementing it.

I used to do that, with my old barrel stove. I was burning seasoned Elm. Really made fora good fire, that didn't need to be stoked every 10 minutes like this outdoor Bryant does.
