Check your block heater cords!!

I pulled this block heater off of a tractor that I recently purchased. As much a I hate to admit I actually had plugged it in for about 10 seconds just to see if it worked not realizing how bad the cord was. It was in a dark shed and I couldn't see the cord that close as it was wound around the heater several times to get rid of the excess cord. I didn't discover the damage until I removed the heater to replumb and ultimately replace it. With winter coming/here please check your block heater cords. It is probably easily overlooked and could save your life and property.

The cord on the tank heater on my 830 look about like that... I replaced it with a new block heater from John Saeli. I haven't even tried it yet!! That old LP will start pretty easily down to about 0 degrees.

Now that's the truth! I don't like tank heaters. To much crap flopping in the breeze. They get so hot you can't hold your hand on them also.
