Can anyone tell me if a farmall M vertical distributer DELCO-REMY 1111411 9C3 will fit a 1952 case sc? These magneto part prices are killing me., Note, I don't know what year the farmall m was.

Yes, these units will work on all the tractors with flange mounted magnetos. They take the old six cylinder car and pickup points and condenser sets available at most parts stores. Just ask for points and condenser for a 1949 Chevy.

Yep, it'll bolt right up. I have one on my '44 SC
& it works great. If I remember right, it rotates
CCW. I think one plug wire insert on the cap is
marked with a #1. You can check that out when you
install it. I have one on a DC that is converted
to 12V & that works great too. All we did was use
a 12V coil on it. Uses the same points & condenser
as the one on the 6V SC. BTW, that same
distributor was also used on AC WD's and WD-45's.

Thank you! to all that replied this will help me a lot!!! I can buy the DELCO 1111411 vertical distributor conversion for less than the small cap on my Fairbanks magneto.

If your experience is like mine you will like the distributor setup. I had several Fairbanks mags off of Allis tractors on my SC and it never did start well or run quite right with those mags on it. Then I put on a Delco distributor conversion off another SC and it started right up and purred like a kitten. It's running 6 volts and I have never had the desire to convert to 12 because it starts and runs so well. The only time it failed to start was last winter when the temp was below zero. Had to put the Oliver on the auger for that one day. LOL Jim

An Ih distributor will also work.Just make sure
you get one for a gas and not a diesel.

fairbanks Morse mags are very expensive to buy
parts for. A wico or an IH CW mag would also
fit and parts are much cheaper.

I have two SC's. One has a delco with 12 volts
and the over is a case mag on six volts. I
think my six volt starts faster than the one on
twelve.

I don't use either one in the winter.

Yea I got two Fairbanks mags and I wouldn't give ya 2 cents for em nothing but trouble. Love to see pics of your tractors & setups if you all ever get the time

Horizontal IH distributors off a Farmall Cub or any Farmall gasoline letter series will work. The IH ones don't give you much space, if you have an oil filter, though. The IH distributors off the gasoline/diesel tractors like the MD turn the opposite direction. Don't ask how I came to find that out.
