Odd looking 730

A neighbor about 8 miles away bought this 730LP new from our local dealership. We bought it from him a few yrs ago. Sadly "Bub" just passed away at the age of 82 a couple months back from Alzheimers. After he retired from farming he kept this tractor and literally put countless miles (just look at the tires) on this ole girl over the yrs going all around the western part of our county in NEIL custom cutting/baling A LOT of hay & straw. He had a Hesston haybine and older JD baler. He repainted it construction yellow several yrs earlier. I have the correct seat to put back on it, he had a homemade seat & swivel setup on it so you didn't have to crane neck watching behind you. We have half a dozen LPs and yes they are less maintenance since the fuel doesn't go bad.

That's a well cared for ole gal.

I own a 930 gas that was converted to propane with a century conversion kit and dread the day something serious happens to it

Nice looking tractor! It must have been well cared for.

Was a tachometer/hour meter optional on those? Are the rear fenders from a Comfort King tractor or were they an upgrade option in place of clam shell fenders?

never , ever saw a dash without a tach ,,odd ???. not even a knock out ????... can you dealer and partsguys fill us in on such a oddity ??

I'm thinking someone must have had a failed cluster and had someone patch and fill the hole with body shop quality workmanship. I like the rest of you wondered, it would be interesting to see if the distributor has the tach drive mechanism yet.

Yes it does Mel. I had been thinking along the same lines as you too. I'll have to ask the PO son to see what/if he remembers. Also have to dig out the build card and have a look at it again.
