Are these interchangeable? Friend has one from a CC Case and I need one for a DC, I haven't seen what he has and he hasn't looked at it for a while to answer my questions. thanks chris

It depends on the year of the DC; the early Dc's used the same base mount mags as the CC's. The change was made in 1942 at tractor number 4607033.

The CC used the model CMA magneto. The early DC's also used the CMA. case changed the DC to the model JMA magneto sometime in 42.

The CMA and JMA will not interchange unless you change the governor too.

Sounds like I'm out of luck with this one. The serial number I tried to make out is 5316V50DC, the V is actually a triangle/diamond shape, and am thinking its a 1950 model. thanks chris

Problem is he doesn't want to spend that much, but will keep you in mind if I can get him to change his mind. thanks chris

Not to take away from old Tom's sale, he does own 90 per cent of a very rich alaskan gold reserve, often mag problems can be solved with sanding points and proper setting of gap. Condensers are fairly generic if needed. If the impulse is not working that is something else or if the coil is bad you will need another or service on yours.Just kidding Tom a little his word is good!!

Every part that is brass is a heavy blue corrosion mess, not much to work with internally.chris

I rebuild my own. The shaft is usually rusted under through the seal to cause the leak. I grind the rust off, build them up with brass and turn them to size on the lathe. Seals are usually OK. Don L has seals if needed.
