Hello I picked up another VAI the other day. It is a 1948 with a Profit loader. The other one that I have is a 1951 with a Lull loader on it. Did case install the loaders or was that done aftermarket or dealer install? Are all of the VAI's so high geared? Would it be possible to use normal VAC gears to slow it down? Fairly nice loader but they are geared to fast. Is the front axle and the gearing the difference between a VA and a VAI? Thanks, Mike

The rear end gearing is higher and the transmission is set up different. To get the gearing back down to a lower more usable speed you can swap out the transmission and rear end from a VA or a VAC. The VAC will have the longer axles but they could be changed out. Might be simpler to find a VA and move the loader over on it. I would also swap the front axle if your VAI has the heavier one. The other difference between the VA and VAI is the VAI comes with 24" rear wheels where the VA would be 28". As far as the front axle there were at least 4 different axles used at various times during the production run with some being used on the VA, VAI and VAO, and others being VAI specific. Lee
