When the 1470 comes out of the shed only some fall tillage remains of this years field work. I tried pulling in first-high, and backing down the RPM's to 1800, but as you can see the exhaust temp concerned me. Dropping back to fourth-low the temp would peak around 850. Rod.

Nice machinery and pictures. Could you tell me what model number the chisel is? Also how is it with rocks under ground. Do the chisels trip or simply spring over it? Also is the disk part in front a cushion type gang or rigid? I really like the job yours does in corn stalks. No one in the neighborhood uses that type of tillage. Thanks for any information.

My CaseIH Magnum has an EGT/pyrometer, which I like having. But doggone it, they don't give actual numbers, just pretty little bars.
Likewise my combine has a "power monitor"/ turbo boost gauge, which I like more and more. But, again, no numbers! I would just as soon that all these engine have all these gauges.

It is called a Consertill model 6500. I would call it a very heavy duty chisel plow. Yes the shanks are spring loaded for tripping over large rock. The frame is full of steel for weight and the front coulter gangs are spring loaded also. The rear leveler I added as it is from a different tillage tool I have.

Forgot to ask, does it work on corn stalks that have not been chopped or will you have plugging problems?

Gosh I should know that. I think they are 23x26, have to go to the farm and finish today. I will look just to be sure, Rod.

Yes it works well in unchopped stalks as plugging has never been a problem. I only chop because the older field cult I use in the sprig will plug if I don't. Rod.
