1490 pto clutch

Looking at a 1490 that needs a pto clutch. What is involved in that?

A split... Nothing terribly complicated. One bolt is a bear to get out, Have to wrestle a stiff return spring through a hole, other than that no big deal. Figure it as an all day job your first time.

Are you sure it isn't an adjustment issue, bad cable, or a problem in the shift linkage?

What isn't it doing right?

Not sure on what is exactly wrong. Saw it for sale
and it was advertized with bad pto clutch. Pretty
rough looking sheet metal, tires weren't too
bad,open station. Owner says it runs really well
otherwise. Asking price was $6000. Way to steep for
tractor you have to split,in my opinion. Trying to
figure out a realistic price would be. I had a 1390
that was pretty clean, that I had 5000 in, but that
was several years back.
