VAC tractor mounted corn picker

A few years ago I bought a 1950 VAC that had some brackets on it and the drive flange off of the belt pulley for the mounted picker.

Many yrs. ago I met a older man at a show in SW. Mo. He had an original Case operators manual with him that showed a one row mounted picker on a VAC. But nothing like what is pictured here.
Here is the strange part, The snapping rolls were out in front of the front wheels ! The VAC had regular dual frt. wheels, nothing special. The elevator went up one side , kinda like what is shown in these pictures. The book said that about four inches was to be cut off of each rear axel . Then you could get between the two outer rows with out knocking corn down. He would not sell that manual, even after a very good offer! I do not know if he had a picker like the book showed, but he did have two VAC s. I would like to know if anyone has seen any thing on that goofy picker.? clint

Best I can tell from years of research it's half of an a IM and someday I'll make one or find one..........

I have the pair of case pickers. They dont pick the fastest but they look great.
