Tom, Do I remember that Case said it would cut through a bale of hay.I THINK I saw it at Henry Brothers Case Dealership.

Jerry, I am sure Bro will chime in on the guards they said would do that as I think they tested them at Loren's Dads dealership? snub guards? I have some info on them here some where

narrow guards were an option on the 10. The guards were actually standard looking but were on a closer center to center, I would say probably about 2 - 2 1/2 inches. Lit showed it on a late 430 or 530 sawing through a bale of hay. Many of them sold in this area had a manual lever to lift the cutter bar so they could be used on the older tractors that were still in use at the time. Don't know of any selling here with this narrow guard option. I bet the guards are now non existant.

Hold up folks, I have a T10 with the guards you are referring to. They are basically a ledger plate held by the bottom half of a pointless guard.
