I have a CI CASE tractor that is four foot wide. The tractor has one foot brake but has brakes in both rear wheel's. Now I know that the serial number should be in the back boss on engine block. My block on the back boss is stamped ASSIGNED the front is stamped MASS C439. The tractor came out of Massachusetts. I think it must be a State tractor, but what use would it be for? I don't think it would have been used for road work because the standard width tractor would be much more practical. I tried getting ahold of some one in the State archives but had no help from them. So what do you guy's and ladies think?
Thanks Bruce

If its a CI narrow tread it could have been used for grading snow off of side walks. Does it have evidence of a snow plow being mounted on it? A lot of the DI narrow treads were used for this.
