Sealed beam headlights 400 Case / others

I need to come up with a pair of 12 volt sealed beam headlight replacement bulbs, for a 400 Case Super Diesel resto. Old Case number 5943595. Seemed like there was something close, and maybe had to grind a tab off or something.

Like the ones for a JD 620, they were talking about retro fit for a JD A B and so on slight mod to retainer ring. ???????????

I put sealed beams on my '46 DC , and the size that fits the best is a little loose . I think I ground off a little locating tab on the back and siliconed the back of the bulb to keep it solid in the retainer.It's at a Show in Vista , Ca. right now , but I can get the P/N Sunday when I bring it home if you still need it .....

Don, the numbers off of the back of one of my 400 sealed beams are- 012 A 30. Sealed beam Tung-Sol. When you find a source let us know as I need about 4. thanks....gobble

Are they the same ones that fit the 300 round nose tractors? If so, I have a solution.

Don, On a couple of Oliver 77s we restored on we used beams out of a 69 Mercury Montego. I think we had to cut an extra notch in the socket but they fit tight.Take your socket to an auto parts store an start recalling older vehicles with round headlights. Korves has the whole replacment socket for fleetline olivers. do not know how close they match.

My 300 is converted to 12 volt. I bought a Wagner 4.5 inch sealed beam at the auto parts store. It's a little too small for the light housing. I split a piece of small diameter automotive rubber vacuum hose down one side. I spread the cut side open and wrapped it around the sealed beam. I cut it off to match the circumference of the sealed beam. I checked the fit in the housing and then glued it on the light with silicone and put a band clamp around it to hold it until the silcone dried. The metal light housing ring covers the rubber hose and know one knows it's there.

Don , when I got the DC back home and looked for the P/N , it was gone on both , and one was burned out . They are a 6 inch 2 prong bulb which is a Sylvania H5001 , $18 at Autozone , about half that on Ebay....
