I'm thinking of getting a Case garden tractor .. my question is , What are the different in a 444 , 446 , or a 448 .... I realize they got different motors ..
Is there something one should look at , that's a downfall for that certain tractor ..
Any advice on this will be appreciate...

THANKS ...... mark

I am partial to the big Kohlers and have two 444s. Kohlers are also cheap and easy to rebuild. The Onans tended to throw rods if the oil was run low. It seems like most guys will repower them with Briggs, which isn't real cheap. Accessories are hard to find and expensive, so the way to go is a tractor with a lot of extras.

Mark, the difference between the three tractors is horsepower and engine size. The 444 is a single cylinder Kohler, the 446 is 16 Onan and the 448 is 18 Onan. I have had the 446 and 448 in the past and the biggest question is have the fluids been changed according the manufactures recommendations. Onans are hard to find parts for and very expensive to overhaul if you do find someone with the parts. Other than that they do a good job mowing and snowblowing.

The older case gt will coast down hills so if u have hills look for a Ingersoll branded gt after 1985 also there are short frame and long frame models if it has an Onan motor in it I would not
Buy it
