This tool is a Spark plug tire pump with a 12 foot hose. My question is, when using this tool {inserting tool in spark plug hole] do you start the motor, or do you pull the coil wire, then turn the motor over? Short bursts of 10 to 20 seconds, so as not to burn up the starter . One more Barley Pop Linda!

I am 57 years old and like casecollector it was the only way I remember my Dad inflating a tire until I was about 10. And it was always the DC he used.

Thanks Steve. I remember dad keeping a spare tire in the truck and transfer air from one tire to the other. If it wasn't for Barney and the Goodyear service truck, we would have been in a bad way. What was Barney's last name Pastor John? What we take for granted today, hey!

Yup, blow up your tires with that and run the milking machine with the valve cock on the intake manifold.
As a kid. I remember many a winter night up at the farm with the SC running down the isle of the cow barn to milk the cows when the power was off.

Yes, you are. It is hard on tubes over time. But, if the tube is already leaking, then it doesn't matter much. Also, tubes used to be made from much thicker rubber than they are today.

I have one of them. The instruction's say if you don't want gas vapors in you're tub back off you're valve push rods so the valves do not open. Mine can suck air in throw the brass fitting that screws in to the spark hole.
