411b transmission

Now that I've got advice on how to drive the caseomatic trans it still has a problem. Even at idle I can't shift into another gear without shutting the motor off & when in gear the clutch and brakes won't stop it. If its the DD disc's, wear are they & how hard of a job is it. All help is appreciated

Check your clutch pressures first to make sure the valves are working right. If your converter pressure is zero the tractor needs to be split and the C-O-M pulled. You will need a service manual.

Before you go any further, take a close look under the fuel tank and get a handle on how the clutch/converter dump, spool, interacts with the direct drive spool. There are tabs held onto the spools with snaprings that overlap each other. When the clutch is depressed, it also pushes in the direct drive spool to release the direct drive clutches. If the tabes are broken or a snapring has dislodged, your tractor will act as you have described.
