A 1370 came in last week an got to it today. The head on the front of the motor an the end cylinder their is a crack about a 1/4 in" down from the top an its about a inch long an the finger nail can just barley catch it. Also noticed that the gasket on one of the water jackets on the same cylinder had a bad spot along with a little pice of the steel gasket around the piston/top of the sleeve was flatened out. Thinking of changing the sleeve, bearings, rings. I don't see any pin holes but is that big enough to cause a problem that would be notice able? Any insight welcomed!!

I would pull all the sleeves and cut the counter bores. That is the reason the sleeves crack in that area. Make sure the protrusion on the sleeves is right, and the valve protrusion is right.

DKase is correct. The upper counter bores need to be cleaned up and measured. It will crack another sleeve if the counter bores are tapered.

Were they just made a tad to tight or threw time the warp some then crack? Just curious on what makes them crack!?

The sleeves sometimes will move around wearing on the counter bore, the counter bore will become tapered or uneven and crack the sleeve. The sleeve moving around isn't real common but can happen.
