DC 5 DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER

Looked at this tractor & didn't see anything unusual about the tractor, except the push rods were 3/8 instead of 5/16. Had reversible draw bar instead of welded draw bar. On back of build card which was almost illegible did refer to a leak out of the transmission. Another notation looks like "no lock nuts on adj rod ?something? assembly". When talking to Carla at Case Company the first 80 numbered tractor was a 52 model and in this block of numbers, pertaining to the DC in question, there was almost all of the tractors had 5 digit serial numbers. I have a real curve I'm going to throw at you next week on a CI Case.

I have 8028468 DC and it has the 80 on the tag and block. And the 80 is also on my build card. Now for the perplexing question. The one in your picture is 28764 and built on Dec 9 1952. Mine is 28468 and was built on March 27 1953. How is it that my earlier number was built nearly 4 months after yours? I think there is more to this story.
