630 Western Model

A friend bought a 630 Western Model with the engine stuck. He's having a hard time finding a head gasket to fit the gas engine. On the original gasket, the fire rings fit on top of the sleeve flange. The replacements are too big to fit the sleeve flange. What holds the sleeves in place then? He also needs the oil pressure guages on the dash for the Case-O-Matic. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Mark..

Try John Saeli. He has helped me lots with my 630 GP (641) gasser.

I am going to need a rebuild gasket set in a few months as well as mains and rod bearings.

Hopefully rings, pistons and sleeves are ok as the Previous owner said he had rebuilt it. A little white lie though as I think all he did was replace rod bearings, pistons and rings. He was supposed to have sent me all old parts and all I got were old pistons and rod bearings and it doesn't burn oil. Low oil pressure though which leads me to believe mains are worn.

Tome I wish mine was that high.
At about 3/4 throttle its maybe 12 psi and a at idle about 4. It needs bearings and probably a crank regrind I am afraid. Also wish I could find 188 gas engine block close to me and someone not wanting an arm and 3 legs for it. Mine has 2 hairline freeze cracks on the back end of the block where the rear drain plug was not removed to drain one time (before I got it). I have no water leaks as the JB weld holds well but I may take to a welder who is good on cast iron and see if they can do anything
