DC ignition thanks

Couldn't find a mag to fit locally, so went and took the distributor/drive housing from my farmall H and with a little time had it running. So now just find another setup and install. My H has the horizontal distributor and had plenty of room. thanks again chris
 
glad to hear you were able to get the dc running.Was it parked for a long time? I might have a mag for a dc if you need one.What year dc are you working on?
 
Don't know the year as I don't know where to find the tag or stamped number. Thinking it was parked for 5 years, working on this for a friend. Do you have the case or wico mag? thanks chris
 
Owner said it was a 49, the serial number looked like 5316V50DC, the V looked more like a triangle. chris
 
Put a Delco vertical distributor on my SC 20 years ago and I've never been sorry. Before that I had several Fairbanks mags off of AC's on it and it didn't start well or purr like a kitten with those mags. I did have a borrowed Case mag on it for a few days and it ran great with that mag. I don't use this tractor in extremely cold weather tho and I do keep the battery and charging system up because it's almost a daily driver in the summer. Jim
