2096 tie rod question

Need to widen the front axle on the 2096 to put a loader on it. Unfortunately, the previous owner welded the tube to the end making it impossible to adjust. CaseIH wants $375 for just the tube, besides the ends. Local salvage yard (Cooks) is only 18 miles away and has 6 complete tie rods for the standard wheel base for $175 each. My 2096 happens to be a long wheel base and the parts manual shows a difference in the tubes. Can anyone tell me why and whether I can use the tie rod for a standard wheel base tractor?

I have wondered that also. Try the standard one. The none threaded tie rod end is a little longer on the long wheel base tractor, I looked at the aftermarket parts specs. The complete tie rod assemble is $280 aftermarket for either tractor.
