Just finished our hay season and while we had the opportunity, we took this photo. This is my son David and myself.

Hope the haying season went well for you. That is a nice looking team of tractors you have. Rod.

Here is a tough question:

If you had to get rid of all but one of those tractors, which one
would you keep ?

Nice looking tractors by the way !

The 2094 because I spent 6 months and several dollars restoring it. It is probably as close to new as any 2094 you will see. It was sold new at a dealership 18 miles from me and I am just the second owner.

How do you like the 2096? Don't see to
many around here. Good looking pic, but
want to see some more!

Nice lineup! Even a MX Maxxum. The MX Maxxums have been good tractors here. Well built, very user friendly tractors.

The MX120 has been a great tractor. It is a shame CaseIH abandoned them in favor of NH. If they had continued the Maxxums they would have been much more competitive with JD. I just bought the 2096 early summer to replace a 3488 IH on a loader. It came from Bures in CT and was not quite as nice as advertised, so will take time to compare it to the 2094. Only 4300 hours, but had to replace the radiator, A/C, steps, blower motor, and rear glass. The powertrain seems good, so I will try to get time to do a restoration like the 2094. Compared to the 2094, it does not have the low end power the 504 motor has, or the power the same Cummins motor has in the MX120. It seems slower to rev up compared to the MX. Maybe someone can tell me if that is normal. It does use less fuel than the 2094, and probably less than the MX. The steering seems to have a little resistance, is that in the steering motor? After all that, Tuesday afternoon we had a threat of rain so I asked a neighbor to run it (pulling a twine 565A) while My son and I used the 2 net wrap balers. We baled about 100/hr and he baled bale for bale with the net wrap balers. The next morning I cleaned 15 Bud light cans out of the cab. To answer 1370Rod, we have lots of hay, but continual threat of rain complicated getting it baled.

Are those Massey/Challenger balers that your
pulling? If so how do you like them, its time for
me to get another baler and I've been thinking
about going the massey route but they are just
starting to catch on around here and I dont know
anyone that has one that has run the amount of hay
through one that I would be to know if they hold
up well long term.

Yes, they are all Hesston automatic balers which are now labeled Massey. The old 565A Hesston preceeded Agco buying Massey and switching the hay line to the Massey name. My first Hesston was a CaseIH 8460. Then the 565A. The Challenger baler is an '06 RB56, the New Idea is an '05 6465. They are the same as a Massey 2756 or Hesston 956A. I obviously like the automatic balers. They are faster because there is no delay waiting for the operator to activate the next function. To get the same capability in any other baler you have to go to a Deere 569 premium costing well over $50K and must run it on a GreenStar tractor and have a specific subscription for the baler. You should be able to buy a really nice low bale count 956A Hesston for $15,000. If you want to talk my phone is 816-517-4102.
