Case VAC Serial # info.

Does anyone know which month and at what serial number Case Switched the VAC to the newer style steering system? I know it was in 1951 but would like to know how far down the line my VAC was from the switch-over.

My VAC-13 is SN:5572624 with the newer style steering. The chart on this site says that the 1951 year started at 5500001. I'm still trying to find the SN when they converted over.

They switched at 5570000 on VAC models. The VAI and VA apparently did not change through the rest of production. There is also some discrepancy as to when the VAH changed. VAS was only made in the later style. Lee
 
Actually, your tractor is probably closer to the break than the serial number would seem to indicate. What the serial number really tells you is that your tractor was the 2624th VA-engined unit to be produced after the updates. There may have been VAs, VAEs, VAHs, VAIs, VAIWs, or VAOs. Not all of these other VA-series machines had the updates.
