Case DI / D missing serial plate - is # stamped elsewhere

Have a straight DI Industrial Tractor that does not have the serial tag on the dash. Do any of you Case collectors know if the serial number is stamped anywhere else on the Case D's series? It starts on gas and runs on Kerosene, etc. but it hasn't ran in 3-4 years. Thanks! -Robert

The number is stamped on the engine block. Look at the flange where the engine bolts to the transmission. it will be near the air cleaner.

Hi...we had 2 guys crawl all over this Case looking for a 7 number serial # and hopefully with a D or DI after it and didn't see anything like that. Or even a 7 digit numeral number. And looked in that flange area you mentioned by the air cleaner, looked around that rear toolbox, etc.. I'll put some pictures now in case anyone has any other ideas. We saw lots of other numbers in areas like 55575A, B4848A, 55768, 5585A, etc.. It's in east Tennessee / North Carolina line. We are aiming to sell it for $2,200 and it last ran 3 years ago and at some point someone put add-on electric start on it which is the reason for the battery tray on the dash. It has 4 brand new tires put on 3 years ago as we found all this out from the place or estate it came from. Has rear weights too. Would maybe consider a Deere tractor like an H, etc. for trade, or a Allis G or hit n miss engine like Galloway or Jager.

Ok thank you. I sort of figured that but that is good to know as wasn't sure. We posted it for sale now in NC for $2,000 obo on YT picture ads. If it went to a good collector who wouldn"t part it out we"d sell it for $1,800. It"s got 4 new tires on it and we all know how much they cost these days. Just don"t want to see it parted and then sold for scrap.

Why is the air cleaner not on? The electrical system is missing and no dash? I think 2 grand is a little high.

Yes it came from an estate or place and told last ran 3-4 years ago. I imagine they put the new tires on in the plan to restore it and the old ones were in poor shape. And the reason those parts in that one picture are off it I'm not sure unless they started restoration and then the owner got sick then. Wish I knew more but it is loose and last ran 304 years ago. On the $2,000 price yes we would do $1,800 and maybe $1,700 with the 4 new tires on it.
