Got started on chopping corn and the pease and barley we planted on the fourth of july. Be cutting the corn we planted then too. Still dealing with some mud, but not too bad. Put my dc on the blower for a few loads to clean the junk out of her system. She struggled the first load, but was blowing good by the third load.

How tall is the silo Jon? I would not of thought a DC would of had enough HP to run a silo blower. When I was a kid, we had a 830 diesel on the blower, on a 60 foot silo, and she could get to blowing coal black. Great pics, keep em come en. Bruce

When I was a kid we used a SC to fill a 60 foot silo. We had to go slow, but it got it up there. We used a New Holland Whirl-a-feed blower that the dealer said required about a 1/3 less hp.

Hey Bruce we did the opposite! We had a 60 an 80ft an plan was to use our1964 830 with a new Badger 54 in diameter blower. Well the first times we tried to blow haylage up it would not get it up!!Plugged pipe! As last resort we put 1951 dc on it an filled silos many times with haylage an corn silage.Difference was the pto was much faster on the dc.

Best blower tractor we ever used was the 930 6 speed. PTO speed was at 1450 engine RPM. When we pulled it to 2000 it would really pack it away.

The silo is 60'. The first load was real slow, but by the 3rd load she was cleaned out and running better and would blow good. I think it is over rev'd a bit so no problem getting it up the silo.
