What fluid goes into a D Brown 990 transmission

and 3pt lift. Ive got the fluid up to where it says Engine Safe on the dipstick, but the 3pt wont lift or lower. Ive had the lift lock on and off, not remembering which position is which, but neither works. Ive slowly ran the lift lever up and down. No go.

I switched mine over to Hytran years ago to match my other tractors, has worked fine.

Re: lift latch - turn counter-clockwise to engage (handle down), clockwise to disengage (handle up).

Usually when that happens, when there's no movement at all of the 3 pt on a 990, it's a little bit of crud in the relief valve. It's located under that oblong shaped cover by the 3 pt control. You VERY CAREFULLY pull the valve out by basically lightly threading a pencil in the valve and lifting CAREFULLY out. THere's a screen and a check ball in there, clean the works with solvent and low pressure air. It will work w/o the ball but not if the screen is plugged. Have to do it every 2-3 years on mine.
