Brakes on Case 1030

I need advice regarding what I need to repair the brakes on a Case 1030 (1032). The old discs that came out are .520 to .490in thick and the intermediate plate is .725in thick.Outer brake cover looks not bad. Never took notice of any shims on the outer plate. What would I need to fix it ??????

If the discs are not oiley, just buff them off with a orbital sander, along with the steel plates. Clean up the balls and sockets and lube them with a dab of greese, and put her back together. If you need seals and other parts call John Saeli on this site @315-585-9826.

We just went through the brakes on our 1030. We followed the advice of several here on the board and replaced the 5/8 ball bearings with 3/4" dia. bearings. It really made the brakes come to life. I think that the increased diameter takes up some wear and increases torque applied to the disks. Don
