sloppy steering in the field on CC Case

I noticed I can move the steering wheel from 12 00 to 2 00. The arm at the wheel is TIGHT.

If you pull in and out on the steering wheel, does it have much play? A loose or bad bearing on the bottom end of the steering shaft could cause that much play in the steering wheel. The other trick is to remove the steering arm from the steering box and rotate the steering wheel so that the shaft goes 180 deg., and then stick the arm back on. This will expose new gear surface to the steering worm, but it is also possible that this has already been done once.

There is absolutely NO pull on the steering shaft. Ill turn the arm round. Thanks,
