David Brown 1210 Tractor

As there is apparently no category for David Brown tractors on this site, I thought this might be the best place to ask, as Case bought out DB.
A dealer in my area of MN has a David Brown 1210 for sale; not sure of the hours on it as it was not listed on their website.
Price is $3500. Were these considered fairly reliable tractors? Never owned or drove a DB, but I understand they are noted for excellent fuel economy.
Any insights appreciated.

They were a very good tractor if properly maintained and run. General appearance should tell you a lot about the tractor. One common problem, (operator error) was running the tractor with the PTO lever bsck in the disengaged position, and not putting the 2 spd PTO shifting lever in neutral, and then returning the lever back to the engaged position. This would wipe out the complete clutch assy on the engine flywheel, and destroy the engine thrust bearings.
If the tractor looks clean, and not beat, you should have a good buy.
Good Luck,Loren
