1030 injector

Recently bought a 1030 advertised as having a bad engine. It's running great, no bubbles in the radiator, no water in the oil, and minimal blow-by. The problem is a knock in the upper end of #6 cylinder. I pulled the rocker covers today and adjusted the valves. All were very close to spec, and the engine is real clean inside. The knock is most obvious at low rpm, but is always there. Definitely in the head, and not lower. I can feel a noticeable difference in the #6 injector line in conjunction with the knock. Do I have a bad or sticking injector? Can this cause the knock? Any help is appreciated.

An injector that has a broken spring or tip stuck open will have a knock. A quick check is to remove the fuel line at the injector and crank the engine, if compression air blows fuel back out the inlet fitting, that injector needs pulled and repaired.

Thanks, Dieseltech. Tried that today, and the injector was OK. Swapped with another injector, and the knock stayed at #6, but I think I found the problem (or at least one problem). There is compression leaking past the #6 injector. I hope the seal surface in the head is OK. Ran out of time today. Will replace or anneal the washer tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for all the suggestions.
