Flower Failures

My wife has grown some big sunflowers this year. Now some of the tallest with large seed heads are leaning and then break at the root falling flat on their face. Rod.

Looks like they're not getting enough water, notice how the leaves are all wilted.

Rod,
We had a couple of them snap off also. Stalks seamed distressed this year. We had more than enough rain, but some of them just snapped as the flowers developed.

Rod my Dad had flowers in 1966, he use to call those big ones like this one and Lorens, "pans"
