How do you remove the piston on a Hydralic cylinder an a case 125b escavator does it unscrew or do I need a puller

0141d,

I hope you don't think the people on this forum rude.
This site deals with the ag tractors mostly from the 40s through the later Cases. There is a lot of discussion of antique tractors and more recent tractors.

Google Heavy Equipment Forum and you will find sites particularily dedicated to the excavators. There are a good amount of knowlegable people in the industrial field who will be eager to help.

Post your question over at the Crawler, dozer, backhoe board, someone will know.

Usually there is a bolt screwed into the end of the rod.
Remove it or nut in some cases and the piston will come off easily.
Be prepared, the torque on that fastener will be 400-600+ ft.lbs. depending on it's size.
