1030 runs out of diesel

I have a 1030 that will run fifteen/twenty minutes
and then starts missing and acting like it's
running out of fuel, let it sit a few minutes and
it's OK for a while???? Changed the filters. Thank
you.

Transfer pump could be going bad. Had a 1030 do the same thing until I pulled the transfer pump off and got it rebuilt. You need to pull the injection pump to get at it

My 930 did that,my fuel line out of the tank was loose, took a long time for me to figure that out, worth a check anyway

if you have good fuel flow up to the hand pump , but not beyond it ..take the hand pump completely apart ,,, pay attention to all parts how they come apart ,,, most of the ones I took apart were disguised with crud,,be careful with it ,, I am told cnh wants a couple hundred for it now,, used to be 18 bux

The transfer pump on the fuel pump is bad.

Between the block and the fuel pump is a small little transfer pump bolted onto the fuel pump, only two bolts and a fuel line hold it on.

Look from underneath and you will see it.

Mine went out about ten years ago, easy fix.

Good luck

check the elbow on the line from the tank in front of the hand pump. anytime a 930 or 1030 that came to the shop where i worked had fuel problems that was the first place we checked . most of the time if the hand pump didnt work that elbow was plugged

Go out in the dark with a good strong flashlight and search around in the inside of the fuel tank for debris that might be clogging the inlet under suction. Along with everything else that"s been suggested.

I"d say hand pump - My 1030 had the same problem. It didn"t take much crud in those discs to make it cough like that and lose power.

1070 had the crud in that elbow and had the same symptoms.
