Well guys, I have to admit that
Rod has topped me with his sunflowers and his 440, But I think I will raise him once more with this hand. My 440, Tall corn, and a load of wood.
This 22A field is marginal on normal years. The soil is only 0 to 10" deep, setting on limestone bedrock. It's been about 10yrs since this field was put back into crop rotation. The Alfalfa was fizzling out. It couldn't have ben a more perfect year to plant corn on it. Lots of timely rains.

Loren,

That is one impressive load of wood. It makes me tired just looking at it LOL.

I thought we were the only people who farmed on shallow ground. All it needs is timely rain, more important than fertilizer. Don
