ONE WIRE Alternator installation 830 Diesal 610B Gasoline

I'm going to install a ONE WIRE Alternator on my CASE 830 (Diesel ) as well as my Case 610B (Gasoline Positive ground 12 Volts upgraded to a 188 Cubic" engine)and my John Deere 520 Positive ground 12 Volts. I would prefer to leave my 610B and John Deere 520 as Positive grounds. Were should I and is it possible to connect the HOT wire from the alternator?
Thanks
Bob

I dunno WHY you would want a "one-wire" alternator, or WHY you want them to remain (+) ground, but if that is your choice, it can be done.

You will need to find a "one-wire" alternator that is set up for (+) ground.

Then, simply run a 10-guage wire from the alternator's output stud to the battery side of the starter switch or solenoid.

If you need an ammeter in the circuit, it gets a like more complicated.... wire from the battery side of the starter switch or solenoid to one side of the ammeter... ALL electrical loads AND the alternator output to the other terminal on the ammeter.

(If ammeter reads backwards at startup, swap everything between it's two posts.)

There will be NO "idiot light" 'cuz by definition, a "one-wire" setup doesn't have a wire available to go to an idiot light.

One issue with the one wire alt is the speed necessary to energize the field. On the one I tried it was around 1500 rpm and the ol gal had to rev her guts out for it to cut in. The one wire is a street rod deal. Use the regular 3 wire w/ a diode or energize off an hour meter
