Update on 1030

Spent a little time with the 1030 that I picked up on Sunday. It started right up today without ether. I let it run about 30 minutes, no bubbles in the radiator, no water in the oil, and the blow-by cleared up. There is a distinct knock at idle in the 5-6 cylinder head, definitely not in the bottom end. The #6 injector line feels like it pulses a lot harder than the other five. May have a bad injector, but it runs smooth. Next step is to run the valves, and see if there's anything going on in the valve train. If it checks out, I guess it's time to change all the fluids and filters. With any luck, this might be my fall plow day tractor.
