I went and pumped the tires up on that old hoss today and brought it home. I figured I'd post a few pics here instead of sending them to your spam box. lol
It's a pretty straight complete tractor. I put the crank in it and it turned over. If it was an Oliver you wouldn't be able to get it away from me. Of course if it was an Oliver, you probably wouldn't want to.

I've got one just like it ,much better paint , far worse rear tires and no 3 point , but it has the power lift....

IMO, that is a great 'find', but I love old Case.
3-GT's and a DC. The rear shot looks just like mine ! !

j hikemper wants it. If he changes his mind,I'll let you guys on here know. I took those rears off today and put them on my 77. Those rims have never had chloride and are the cleanest rims I've ever taken tires off of. I pulled it around out of site.
The old beast has been around the neighborhood for a long time. Jim has had it for probably 25 years. He got it from his cousin Fred up the road. I don't even remember how long Fred had it.
I was tempted to hook the jumper cables to it today and see if it would fire on ether, but I wanted to get those tires swapped out.
I noticed something when I was towing it around back. Those are pressed steel rims on the front. I've had two SC's and DC,all narrow fronts. Was that common to have pressed steel on a wide front?

RR , mine have those same 5 lug front wheels. I thought they came off a car , but my boss at the Case dealer here said they were the correct ones . I picked up some near new 6.50X16 Goodyear lite truck tires dirt cheap , and they work well.

I have a pair here off an old round back Case combine too. Those are a cast center with pressed steel rims around them. They use blocks to hold the rims to the centers.

I can't tell from the photos, but some hubs are tapped to accept the heavy cast wheels or the pressed steel wheels. We've got a couple DCs with the wide front but both have the pressed steel wheels also.

Very nice. I bought one just like it in 97. I gave the old farmer $250.00 When I went to get it he gave me back the check because he changed his mind. he died year or two later and his son sold all the tractors for iron before Floyd was even in the ground.

Sure a nice "DC3", glad you saved her and she is going to a good home.

And Oliver made good machinery, many times in my life I heard they were ahead of their time on inovations

Thanks for posting
Dan

We had a local dealer here who sold Case and Oliver both. They catered to potato growers. They didn't sell many Oliver tractors, pushed the Cases hard, but they said they kept Oliver for their tillage tools.

Grandpa would tell you Olivers were better than John deeres. When he found out Oliver was quiting he ran out and bought a brand new 1855.
